Canadian Avalanche Centre

The Canadian Avalanche Centre (CAC) is Canada's national public avalanche safety organization. Based in Revelstoke, BC, the CAC provides public avalanche bulletins three times a week throughout the winter, and daily during the Christmas and Easter holiday periods. Our team of forecasters uses an extensive information network to track snowpack stability and predict the avalanche hazard for the mountainous areas of Western Canada. Our website also has a complete list of recreational avalanche course providers, information on professional-level training, and an exciting new online course that teaches avalanche rescue techniques. If you're planning on enjoying the Canadian backcountry this winter, make www.avalanche.ca your first stop.
