Entering its third year commercially, 4FRNT’s Deadbolt has moved beyond the park-rat demographic to become a trusted freeride binding with brake widths for all skis. The Deadbolt 816, 614, and 412 share a 3D toe piece that releases vertically as well as laterally. Upward release is important to prevent ACL injuries in backward twisting falls. More skilled riders—especially ones landing backward—need not fret as this function can be locked out. All models share the same price regardless of DIN, a unique feature in the binding world.
