Like nearly every ski area in the West, Mammoth Mountain received nearly two feet of the white stuff out of the massive coastal storm last week. Accordingly, we peaced out of the office on Friday for a weekend of holiday cheer and Tom and Jerry’s spiced egg nog in Mammoth.

On Saturday, November 17th Alyeska Resort had arguably the best opening day I’ve experienced. In lieu of the typical lower mountain runs with man-made snow, JBIII, management, and patrol opted for upper-mountain skiing only—Chair 6 opening with upload / download on the Tram.
