Powder Magazine teamed up with PacSun for a luxurious evening of watching the world’s best halfpipe skiers from the cozy confines of the PacSun Lounge at the base of the Superpipe in Aspen, Colorado.
As the packed, puffy jacket-wearing crowd huddled close together at the bottom of the pipe to stave off the cold temperatures, Powder and friends celebrated with hot finger foods, soup, cold beers, and cocktails with an ideal view of all the action. While Tanner Hall and Simon Dumont battled it out to the last run wooing the crowd with their amplitude and technical prowess, the PacSun suite acted as the perfect setting to watch the drama unfold. Even Winter X Games commentator and aficionado Sal Masakela stopped by, ate some food, and scoped the action for the scaffolding booth.
It’s not often you can pop a few hot empanadas in your mouth followed by a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon to wash it down all while watching the biggest ski pipe contest go down about 50 feet in front of you. And not to be forgotten, the space heaters kept all the spectators from the PacSun booth warm and cozy as we enjoyed the spirits of the night.
Thanks to PacSun for providing us with a great site to celebrate friends and skiing.
