What else are you doing this summer?
We’ve been going to the platforms at the pool a lot, practicing tricks off of different heights. It’s kind of like jumping off of cliffs. You set your rotation differently and your hang time is different.
What are your plans for the winter?
For this winter I’d like to stick around Salt Lake as much as I can and take it as it comes. I never really plan where I’m going to be or what I’m going to be doing. I kind of go where the snow is good. But ideally I’d like to be around here as much as possible.
What do you want to focus on with your skiing?
I want to spend a lot more time skiing lines. I feel like that’s what it takes to go film sometimes. I guess I just plan on hiking more this year–getting out there as much as I can and doing bigger stuff that I haven’t ever skied before. But I don’t know, then I want to do laps on kickers. It’s funny what you think about in the summer. I noticed when I was watching the footage up in Jackson it was the powder skiing that got me most excited.
What does your perfect line look like?
The perfect run for me would be something about 700 to 1,000 vertical feet with two different drops or airs. I like to hit things that have natural lips on them that you can launch into a trick. I don’t’ necessarily like to ski above exposure for no reason. Maybe just a good double line with two good airs, epic powder and stable conditions.
