10 MINUTES: With Michelle Parker

Parker, slashing a Colorado pipe.

Has growing up in the skiing limelight caused you to grow up faster?
Skiing has taught me a bunch of life lessons. I’m not going to college but I’m still learning a ton right now, traveling and learning about life. I still have a lot of kid in me, I’m not by any means grown up.

Will you go to college eventually?
For sure. I’ll probably go back next fall. I want to go on a foreign exchange and learn different languages.

What are your winter plans?
Last year I was all over the place. I want to stick around in Tahoe and put together a good segment.

What are you doing when you aren’t skiing?
Hanging out with friends and family, reading good books, chilling out and being mellow. I went to summer camp and got super into mountain biking. I like listening to music. I like a little bit of everything. I don’t like much country, but I like Johnny Cash, rap, hip-hop, reggae…

Best powder day ever?
The first time I ever skied Fingers at Squaw. I remember seeing J.T. and McConkey do it and stick their line. I watched from the chair and then went up and did it.
