Carlos and I got picked up in Minturn by a guy named Todd. A skier who defines what it is to just "do your own thing," Todd was trying to make it as a carpenter after being a ski bum in Summit County for nearly two decades. After running his own construction business he came on with Beaver Creek, where he received a steady paycheck and health benefits. Plus, he's closer to World Cup downhill action on the infamous Birds of Prey course.
