September 22, 2004: It's coming...
Winter pays an early visit to the Western Mountains.
It's officially fall and the mountains of Utah, Colorado, and Montana are seeing their first substantial hits. About 10 inches of late September fresh was measured at the top of tram at the 'Bird, Germania at Alta and Jupiter Peak at Park City over the weekend and the early part of this week. Solitude measured about 8 inches. Tuesday morning blessed Aspen with 3-6 inches and Breckenridge with 2-3. Snow hit the San Juan's: Telluride managed to gather 2-6 inches. Up north, Big Sky saw about 6 inches on the upper mountain Wednesday morning. Winter also paid a visit, depositing new snow in Mammoth and Tahoe. Snow continues to fall in the Rocky Mountain high country today (Wed.).
