Head for Cancer Research

Top female skiers team with Subaru, Head skis to raise money and awareness

With everyone from car companies to yogurt vying for your socially conscious dollar these days, it pays to be somewhat wary when considering spending your time and/or money "for a cause." The fifth annual Head Subaru Women's Ski Clinics, however, are happily without a catch. Instead, they provide participating, savvy skiers with a day of skiing, tips from top women skiers, and demos of Head's women-specific skis--all for free.

While the clinic format allows Head to promote their skis in an up close and personal manner, the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund will receive a donation from Head and Subaru dependent upon attendance and ski sales at the clinics. Last year, that translated into over $30,000 towards combating breast cancer. In addition, clinic-goers reap the benefit of complimentary instruction from the likes of Alison Gannett, Darian Boyle and Lisa Densmore, who will rotate between the 16 events.

Clinics are limited to 40 women (most of last year's clinics reached capacity), with at least two instructors present, and are open to all skill levels. Interested women are encouraged to sign up at one of the sponsoring ski shops listed on the schedule below:
