"The Canyons has been acknowledged as a leader in the terrain park world, and we are dedicated to keeping up with the latest trends and designs," said Blaise Carrig, President of The Canyons Resort. "Our staff's commitment sets us apart from the competition, and this year our park will truly go to the next level."

The terrain park will remain on the front face of the resort, accessed directly by Red Hawk lift, a chairlift dedicated specifically to the park. Smokie's Smokehouse will continue to be a prime viewing spot with its deck located near the base of the park.

"I think people expect us to improve every year, and we have," explained Terrain Park Manager Eric Brown. "This year it will be a whole new experience with our sound system, new pipes, and the lights... not to mention 25 new rails." Brown will be among the leading designers and park pros when he attends the Windells Snowboard Camp this summer at Mt. Hood, Oregon. His experience at Windells will ensure The Canyons will have the latest in rail and box designs and maintenance for the 2002/2003 Season. This will be Brown's fourth season at The Canyons, and his fifth year building parks.
