West Lebanon, NH -- After months of on again off again negotiations, Tecnica has finalized an agreement to purchase Nordica ski boots from the Benetton Sports Group for an undisclosed price.

Tecnica will now be the #1 worldwide manufacturer of ski boots, with sales of approximately 1,500,000 pair a year.

Sales and marketing, logistics, and financial operations of the two brands in the United States will remain separate, according to John Stahler, President of Tecnica USA. Tecnica and Nordica currently hold the #2 and #3 market share positions in the U.S.

In addition to Nordica, Tecnica also owns Dolomite and Lowa ski boots and footwear, Marker bindings, Nitro snowboards, and Think Pink clothing worldwide, and distributes Volkl Skis in the United States, Italy, France, Canada, and Japan.
