Two time Canadian Freeskiing Champion, Canadian, Jennifer Ashton managed to ski her way to the 3-peat and defended her title once again. Semi-finals leader, Jenna Funston, finished 2nd and Ingrid Backstrom of Squaw Valley, USA moved from the 8th place spot going into the finals to 3rd place with the highest scoring woman's run of the day.

Television coverage of the event will air on Outdoor Life Network (OLN) later in the winter. The Canadian Championships was the first of a 3-stop world tour. Stop #2 is the Subaru US Nationals in Snowbird, Utah, January 25-26, 2003, and the World Tour Freeride Finals in March in Les Arcs, France. The IFSA World Tour assigns points to the top 15 men and 5 women at each event and an overall champion is determined at the end of the season.
