ASPEN, Colo. - Lars Lewen's indoctrination into the world of Men's Skier X was sudden. And the results couldn't have been better for the 27-year-old fromStockholm, Sweden.
Lewen ruled the day on the slopes, edging out his fellow competitors for Winter X Games VII Gold.
"I really can't imagine my feelings right now," said Lewen following the win. "This is my first Winter X Games and I'm an alpine ski racer. And to have six races on the course (at the same time) was very tough."
But the extra company didn't seem to bother Lewen in the very least. "I'm so satisfied right now," Lewen said. "I can't even describe it. I've never been happier."
Reggie Crist (Sun Valley, ID) followed up last year's Gold medal run in Skier X with a Silver this year. "I got (Lewen) in the semis, but then he got me in the final," said Crist. "I got a great start, which included a hole shot, but I couldn't hold him off."
