Bend, Ore. -Snow has been falling for two days at Mt. Bachelor and more is forecast over the next five days as the Mountain prepares to lower ticket rates starting Monday, April 19 through the last day of the season Memorial Day, May 31, 2004.
Adding to an already deep base of 130 inches, a light blanket of new snow fell overnight. The current storm could bring an additional eight inches of powder before the next Sun break. At the same time the Mountain is reducing already low ticket prices.
Starting Monday adults will pay just $30.00 for an all-day ticket, down from $44.00. Kids’ tickets will be reduced from $26.00 to $18.00. Seniors and teens will get tickets for just $26.00, regularly $37.00. Two special spring passes can be purchased now, also. A Summit Season Pass allowing unlimited lift rides is on sale for $250.00. A Spring 5-Day Pass good for any five days through season end is selling for $125.00. Both passes are available in the Guest Services Building at West Village.
"The snow is great, the prices are cheap and we have lots of fun events this spring," said Mountain spokesman Chris Johnston. "This is my favorite time to be on the slopes!" Among the events scheduled to round out the current season is the Bud Light Snowboard Rodeo April 17, Wells Fargo Race and Ace Challenge May 1, US Bank Pole, Pedal, Paddle May 15, and North American Pond Skimming Championships May 31.
Mountain operating hours starting April 19 will be 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM daily. Three lifts, Pine Marten Express, Summit Express and the Northwest Express or Outback Express will run until April 25. Additionally, the Skyliner Express will run April 23-25. After that the Pine Marten and Summit Express lifts will run until the end of the season, scheduled for May 31.
