"The Tahoe Games Rail Assault" Invades Caesars Tahoe

On February 21st, 2004, local residents and visitors from around the world attending the First Annual Rail Assault in Lake Tahoe will have the privilege of watching the world’s best skiers and snowboarders vie for a $10,000 purse. Over 1,000 yards of snow will be trucked in and the front parking lot of Caesars Tahoe transformed into a killer slope featuring riders attacking multiple rails performing aerial maneuvers and radical tricks.

The Tahoe Games Festival Village, underneath the marquee at Caesars, will open at 4:00pm on Saturday, February 21st with food vendors, a beer garden, and world-class music being spun by legend DJ Smoky. The festival will also provide product samplings, giveaways, vendor booths, and a charity raffle. The opening ceremonies for the Rail Assault competition begin at 6:00pm. After a halftime show featuring local youth riders and skiers, 10 of the best skiers and 10 of the best snowboarders will advance to the finals. Beginning at 8:30pm, they will be battling for their share of the $10,000 purse. Once the winner has been crowned, the party will move inside Caesars where the after party will feature top named acts.

Look for "The Tahoe Games Rail Assault" to be featured on Fox Rush Hour Fusion Television on Fox Sports Net, and RSN, as well as, local news stations. Major Ski and Snowboard magazines and industry videos will also be highlighting the event. Invited athletes include Tahoe Snowboarding Legend Jim Rippey, Olympic Gold Medalist and X-Games winner Danny Kass, X-Games Gold Medalist Jimmy Halopoff, X-Games Bronze Medalist Jimi Tommer, Vans Triple Crown winner Chris Bartimioli, professional skiers Chris Hernandez and Travis Woodcock, plus many more.

The Tahoe Games are a series of annual winter and summer events showcasing the world’s top athletes against the backdrop and stunning beauty of Lake Tahoe. The Tahoe Games Winter will feature the top winter sport professional athletes competing in various disciplines at local resorts in Lake Tahoe. Top skiers and snowboarders will battle it out in rail assault, halfpipe, slopestyle, and racing competitions. The Tahoe Games Summer will feature biking, climbing and watersport competitions. The goal of these events is to bring together world-class athletes and worldwide exposure for Lake Tahoe so everyone can enjoy this majestic location.
