Heart Pangs in Aspen
Living like Kings

Strange to see a cougar at this altitude.

The atmosphere at the J-Bar was excellent. Tons of locals showed up for a chance to see the best movie clips of the past year and for the possibility of winning some of the amazing swag we raffled off. We encountered an insufficient sound system, but Gabe stepped in to saved the day with some play-by-play commentating. The movie rolled along and everyone enjoyed the awesome athleticism displayed on the big screen, then the giveaways and raffle worked the crowd frenzy. Aspen Valley Ski Club enjoyed taking home the three hundred dollars that was raised, but the underprivileged kids, they outfit with ski equipment, were the real winners.

Joy, another happy local.

After our day of rest we hit Aspen highlands for some turns. It was a bluebird day and there were still lots of fresh lines to be had. When we got to where the lifts stopped a cat took us to the outer boundaries of the resort. We then began the thirty-minute grunt to the top of the bowl. Along the way we ran into some interesting locals and we all enjoyed the amazing view together at the top of the run. We blasted down the 1500 ft. run as fast as we could then returned for another lap before retiring to the lift access terrain below the bowl.

Aspen is a magical place. The town, the people and the mountains provide an electric environment that has become legendary. We're stoked to have been able to stop here and we know we shall return. My only hope is that when I come back Trish will be awaiting my return, but I somehow doubt it.
