Red Mountain, Rossland, BC
Surrounded by the expansive wilderness of British Columbia's rugged interior,
Red Mountain offers a retreat from big-city crowds. The resort comprises
two mountains - Red and Granite. Together, they provide more than 1,200
acres of varied terrain and the best tree-skiing in North America. One
of the most unique features of the skiing experience at Red Mountain is
that both mountains offer skiable terrain 360 degrees around. That means
you can choose from a virtually endless number of runs with each descent!
Granite Mountain, the larger of the two mountains, rises 2,900 vertical
feet from the base area. The Motherlode chairlift gives skiers and snowboarders
access to the gnarliest terrain that the resort has to offer, including
steep meadows, chutes, trees, and bowls. Nearby, the Paradise Chairlift
services the intermediate side of the mountain where you'll find moderate
slopes, a variety of groomed runs, and well-spaced glades.
Rossland residents have enjoyed many winters of gliding down Red Mountain's
world-class terrain. The first recorded ski race at Red Mountain took
place in 1897. More than 100 years of rich skiing history have developed
an ambience at Red Mountain that is impossible to re-create. Residents
of this picturesque community share a passion for the mountains that is
both genuine and contagious!
Visit Red Mountain and discover a winter resort unlike any other.
